Edom is an open source Java library which allows EDI X12 documents to be parsed and written. EDom is intended
to function similar to the XML Dom, providing similar functionality for EDI documents. EDom uses XML meta data to describe a particular EDI transaction. Once the document is parsed, methods
can be called to extract data from the EDI Document. This approach allows Java developers to make their applications EDI aware, in much the same way as
XML parsers such as XLAN allow Java applications to manage XML documents.
